Your rights

In accordance with the GDPR, you shall have the following rights regarding the processing of your personal data:

Anonymous Data Collection

You can visit the webpages of the German National Library of Economics without telling us who you are. We only get to know the name of your internet service provider, the website from which you came to our website and which of our webpages you visit. This information will be used for statistical purposes. You as an individual customer remain anonymous.

Collection and Processing of Personal Data

If you call up pages and files on this website and are requested to input data about yourself, we will advert you that the transmission of these data over the internet is unsecured and can therefore be noticed or even falsified by unauthorised persons.

Utilisation and Circulation of Personal Data

The personal data collected on the webpages of the German National Library of Economics will only be used without your consent for the execution of contracts and in order to process your enquiries. Beyond this, your data will only be used with your prior consent for advertising and market research and the tailoring of electronic ZBW services to customer requirements. Equally, your data will only be used for tailoring individualised advertising if you have granted your consent. Your data will not be circulated to third parties. You can revoke your consent at any time, effective from the time of revocation.

We save so-called session-cookies on your hard drive which are valid only during your visit on our website. These are needed to identify and authorise you after successful login in the protected sections of our website for the duration of your visit. Social Media

By reason of its legal mandate, the ZBW maintains close relations with scientific institutions, scientists at home and abroad, business, and with national and international institutions of research and information provision. The ZBW is active in social media networks in order to engage with our target group, to advert them to our services, and to share information with them.

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) prescribes legal standards in particular for the usage of service providers not based in the EU. In these cases, your personal data will possibly be transferred to the USA and processed there. American companies have engaged to comply with EU data protection standards by means of the EU-US Privacy Shield. You can find more information about this at https://www.privacyshield.gov.

Service providers normally use personal data for purposes of market research and advertising. E-mails

If you send us an e-mail, we will use your e-mail address only for corresponding with you. After the end of correspondence, your e-mail address will be deleted. It will not be used for other purposes or transmitted to third parties. We also advise you that unauthorised access and falsification are possible if e-mails are transmitted without encryption.

Mailing lists

For cooperations, the ZBW offers mailing lists. Subscription to these mailing lists is voluntary and they will be used only with your consent. You subscribe to such a mailing list yourself, usually on a website, and you can unsubscribe the same way at any time, thus revoking your consent. You will then no longer receive any emails through this mailing list.

If you actively use mailing lists, your email will be sent to all members of the mailing list along with your name and email address. This information can then be seen, stored long-term and passed on to third parties. After sending the emails, the ZBW can no longer exert influence on the processing of these personal data.

Event series “Leibniz Open Science!”

For conducting the event series “Leibniz Open Science!” our partner institution Leibniz Institute for Psychology (ZPID) (https://leibniz-psychology.org/en) is responsible according to Art. 4 Clause 7 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation. ZPID uses Zoom for video conferences and Google Forms for registration and as contact form. Tracking

The ZBW uses the Matomo service to analyse usage data on this website. This service is configured to use cookie less tracking by default. The processing of the data is necessary for the optimisation of this website and is based on Article 6 section 1 lit. f of the GDPR. Data that allows us to reference individual persons are anonymised or pseudonymised as soon as possible. We will not use the data for other purposes, will not combine it with other data and will not forward it to third parties. The data is processed on a server of the ZBW.

You can revoke the described processing of the data for the purpose of optimising this website without having any disadvantages.
